Racism charter to become building block
The Know Racism organisation says a new charter against racism in sport will help build more tolerance to the multicultural society that now exists in Ireland.
The charter has the backing of all the major sporting bodies. They are committed to ensuring their sports are free from discrimination, harassment or prejudice on the grounds of race, colour, ethnic or national origins and religious belief.
Former GAA president, Joe Mc Donagh, who chairs the Know Racism Programme, also said the charter was not just for those who play sport.
