The death of two men in a car crash yesterday evening in Tipperary has brought to five the number of people killed on Irish roads this weekend.

The death of two men in a car crash yesterday evening in Tipperary has brought to five the number of people killed on Irish roads this weekend.

The Tipperary fatalities occurred around 7.30pm yesterday on the N24 at Ballycrishteen, between Tipperary town and Monard.

The crash, between two cars, fatally injured the two male passengers.

It is thought one of the men was a US citizen.

Meanwhile, two people died in separate road accidents in Cork yesterday.

A 19-year-old man was killed when the car he was driving went out of control at the bridge on the Millstreet to Rathmore road, and a 25-year-old woman died in a three car crash at Parkadallane.

In Sligo a 19-year-old man died yesterday from injuries he sustained after the motorcycle he was travelling on collided with a car at Maugheraboy on Friday night.
