McDowell to blame for abuse compo cost - Rabbitte

Labour leader Pat Rabbitte says Justice Minister Michael McDowell must take some of the blame for the escalating cost of the compensation deal for victims of abuse by religious orders.

The annual report of the Comptroller and Auditor General found lapses in financial control, poor estimation of costs and inadequate planning of capital projects across a range of Government departments.
