Two in court in connection with Limerick death

Two men have appeared before a special sitting of Limerick District Court charged in connection with the death of a man this morning.

Twenty-year-old Darren Wallace of Assumpta Park Limerick and 19-year-old Johnathan Touhy of no fixed abode were charged with assault causing harm to 43-year-old Noel Carmody from Ballingarry, Co Limerick.

Mr Carmody - a former primary school teacher - was found by gardaí at Arthurs Quay Park in the city with severe head injuries at 4.30am this morning.
