Radio Kilkenny is being allowed continue broadcasting for a further two months.

The station's current licence is due to expire at the end of this month and The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland says that the extension will run until the end of November.

Radio Kilkenny is appealing a BCI decision to not to award it the licence for the newly created Carlow Kilkenny franchise area at the Supreme Court and this case is expected to be heard later this year.
