Fianna Fáil TD issues apology after being caught drink-driving

Fianna Fáil TD GV Wright has issued a public apology after injuring a female pedestrian in a drink-driving incident last week.

Mr Wright was arrested on Thursday night after the accident in the Mountjoy Square area of Dublin.

In a statement issued today, he apologised to the woman he hit, who suffered a leg injury in the incident.

He also admitted that he was over the legal alcohol limit and said he would fully co-operate with the garda investigation into the accident.
