IHIA welcomes planned exemptions from smoking ban
The Irish Hospitality Industry Alliance has welcomed Health Minister Micheál Martin’s plans to exempt some facilities from the proposed ban on smoking in all Irish workplaces.
Mr Martin said yesterday that he was planning to introduce waivers for certain facilities like psychiatric hospitals.
The Irish Hospitality Industry Alliance, an umbrella group of publicans and hoteliers opposed to the proposed smoking ban, has called on the minister to publish a list of facilities that would be covered by the waiver.
