The PSNI has defended itself following the Police Oversight Commissioner’s criticism of the slow pace of policing reforms in the North.

The commissioner said he was concerned about the lack of progress on human rights training for police officers, the scaling down of military installations at police stations, the continuing use of plastic bullets and the lack of restructuring of the Special Branch.
