Fine Gael and the Labour Party have both called on the Government to accept responsibility for the ongoing rise in the number of people claiming unemployment benefits in Ireland.

CSO figures released earlier today showed that 506 extra people signed on the Live Register last month, bringing the total number on the register to almost 186,000.
