A Protestant couple and their two children have escaped injury in a suspected pipe bomb attack on their home in the loyalist Highfield estate in west Belfast.

A Protestant couple and their two children have escaped injury in a suspected pipe bomb attack on their home in the loyalist Highfield estate in west Belfast.

The family was upstairs in the house when an explosion ripped apart the front door and shattered the front window early this morning.

The 22-year-old woman, who lives in the house with her boyfriend and two young children, said she had no idea why they were attacked.
