The vast majority of people in Northern Ireland want the peace process to succeed, former talks chairman Senator George Mitchell insisted today.

Senator Mitchell, who embarked on a round of meetings with Northern Ireland political leaders, said after discussions with Mark Durkan, the leader of the SDLP, that society in Northern Ireland had made great strides forward.
