A 24-year-old man was today due to appear before magistrates in Derry, charged with the weekend murder of a soldier on a British army base.

A 24-year-old man was today due to appear before magistrates in Derry, charged with the weekend murder of a soldier on a British army base.

He is accused of shooting dead a 21-year-old soldier at Shackleton Barracks in Ballykelly on Saturday night.
