240 Dunnes workers to strike in Limerick
Around 240 Dunnes Stores workers at the Parkway shopping centre in Limerick city are due to go on strike today over changes in working conditions.
They also allege that the company has failed to address bullying and harassment.
The one-day strike was organised by the Mandate trade union after Dunnes Stores failed to respond to a request for a meeting on the matter.
Mandate said the workers at Parkway had ongoing problems in relation to bullying, harassment, inadequate ventilation and a lack of heating in the store during the winter.
However, a union spokesman said the strike was prompted when the company unilaterally changed working hours and patterns without consulting its staff.
