SVP reports doubling of calls to Dublin office

St Vincent de Paul has reported a significant rise in the number of people contacting it in the first two months of this year.

The organisation said figures analysed by its Dublin office in January and February showed that more than 1,000 calls were received.

This compares to just over 500 calls in the same period last year.

The charity said the increase in Dublin mirrored similar increases in other St Vincent de Paul offices around the country.
