FF TD slams opposition to proposed smoking ban
Fianna Fáil TD Barry Andrews has accused the hospitality industry of putting its own profits ahead of public health in Ireland by opposing the Government's plans to ban smoking in all workplaces.
The Irish Hospitality Industry Alliance, a group of publicans, hoteliers and restaurateurs, has claimed that the proposed ban, due to come into force on January 1, would lead to 65,000 job losses in the hospitality sector.
