Govt to withhold €150m university research funding

The Government is reportedly planning to introduce severe cutbacks in research funding for Irish universities.

Reports this morning said €150m needed to buy laboratory space and equipment will not be paid to universities this year, a move that has sparked fury in the third-level sector.
