Investigation launched into death of Waterford baby
Gardaí in Waterford have questioned a number of people in connection with the death of a four-week-old boy in Waterford Regional Hospital earlier this week.
The child, who has Nigerian parents, died after being rushed to the hospital on Sunday night.
Reports today said a man had apparently attempted to carry out a circumcision on the child.
Gardaí were alerted to the case by staff at the hospital on Monday morning.
A post mortem was carried on the baby's body, but the results were inconclusive.
