McDowell urged to give Omagh families transcripts

Pressure is mounting on the Minister for Justice Michael McDowell, to provide transcripts of the Michael McKevitt trial to the families of the Omagh bombing victims.

Minister McDowell will meet a group of relatives next month, to discuss their civil case against five men accused of being behind the atrocity.

Today is the fifth anniversary of the bombing, which killed 29 people and unborn twins, injured hundreds more and devastated the town of Omagh in Co Tyrone.

Labour's deputy leader Liz McManus said this evening that the Government here should provide far more support to the families.
