An eight-year old girl has been killed in a road accident in Co Westmeath after her bicycle was hit by a car just before 8pm last night.

An eight-year old girl has been killed in a road accident in Co Westmeath after her bicycle was hit by a car just before 8pm last night.

The accident happened at Craddenstown, Raharney just outside Mullingar as the child cycled onto a main road.
