Four students receive eight Leaving Cert A1s
Four students have received eight A1 grades in this year's Leaving Cert exams, compared to just one last year.
Almost 60,000 students received their Leaving Cert results this morning, with the average student receiving 300 points.
The State Exam Commission said around 52% of students received 300 points or more, which is broadly in line with previous years.
The commission also revealed that exam results were withheld from 30 students due to concerns about possible cheating.
67 other students were given their results, but were told the marks depended on the outcome of further investigations.
