Diabetes Federation launches fundraising drive
The Diabetes Federation of Ireland has launched the details of a new fund raising campaign for Irish-based diabetes research.
The Dublin Bay Fun Cycle will take place on Sunday, September 21 between Howth Village and Blackrock Park and back.
Diabetes accounts for approximately 10% of the total Irish health budget and is the commonest cause of blindness in the working population.
It's estimated that up to 200,000 Irish people suffer with diabetes with approximately half of those people unaware that they have the condition.
Information on how to participate is available by 1850 909 909 or log onto www.diabetes.ie.
