Ex-Elan employees plan new lab

A group of former employees of the Elan pharmaceutical firm have announced plans to create 30 jobs at a new research laboratory in Co Westmeath.

Enterprise Ireland has provided €400,000 to help fund the construction of the BioClin laboratory in Athlone.

The company is planning to provide development services for the pharmaceutical, bio-tech and veterinary industries.
