Mayor of Belfast escapes Spanish bomb

The Mayor of Belfast has been telling how he narrowly escaped injury in the first of this afternoon's two bombings on Spain's Mediterranean coast.

The SDLP's Martin Morgan was forty yards away from the first explosion beside a hotel in Alicante, which was followed by another minutes later in nearby Benidorm.

The Basque separatist group ETA has claimed responsibility.
