SSIAs will not be cut - Taoiseach

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern says the Special Savings Incentive Accounts (SSIAs) will not be touched at the next Budget.

He was responding to newspaper reports which said the 25% Government top-up for SSIAs would be cut next year.

The SSIAs were introduced to encourage people to cut back on spending in order to reduce inflation.
