The Consumers Association has requested a meeting with the electricity regulator to discuss the ESB's apparent plans to seek another 5% price increase.

Association chairman Michael Kilcoyne said the ESB had already secured a 13% increase earlier this year and "it is unacceptable that consumers should have to pay this high price for electricity".
