NI police enjoying greater Catholic confidence - report
The North's Chief Constable Hugh Orde has claimed increased Catholic backing for the police will boost the service provided by officers.
For the first time, 50% of Catholics questioned for an independent study said the PSNI treated all sections equally.
The Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency's Omnibus Survey found three quarters of all respondents had at least some confidence in the force.
Faith in the PSNI's delivery of a day to day service has increased from 68 to 70%
