A 35-year-old Corkman has been convicted by a jury at the Central Criminal Court of raping a woman he saw relieving herself in a laneway in a Cork town.

A 35-year-old Corkman has been convicted by a jury at the Central Criminal Court of raping a woman he saw relieving herself in a laneway in a Cork town.

Patrick O'Driscoll of Coombe, Glenville, Fermoy was remanded in custody by Mr Justice Kevin O'Higgins for mention of the case on October 7 next when a sentence date will be set. He was found not guilty of anally raping the woman on the same occasion, on September 3, 2000.
