Waste generation decreased between 1998 and 2001

The amount of waste generated in Ireland decreased by 7.5% between 1998 and 2001, according to a report published today by the Environmental Protection Agency.

The 2001 national waste database report said the decline in waste generation was largely due to a fall in the creation of farm slurry.
