Chilean President Ricardo Lagos is due to begin a two-day trip to Ireland today.

Chilean President Ricardo Lagos is due to begin a two-day trip to Ireland today.

Mr Lagos is due to meet his Irish counterpart, Mary McAleese, today and the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern tomorrow.

He is also due to take part in a tree-planting ceremony at Áras an Úachtaráin and lay a wreath at the Garden of Remembrance before enjoying a state dinner at Dublin Castle.
