Minister refuses to review Maghaberry segregation policy
Jane Kennedy, the British Government's security minister for the North, has refused to review segregation policies at Maghaberry Prison in Co Antrim.
Republican and loyalist prisoners have staged a series of protests at the prison in recent weeks, demanding that they be kept in separate cells.
Marian Price, a spokesperson for dissident republican prisoners, has claimed that up to 10 men engaged in a so-called "dirty protest" at Maghaberry were beaten and hosed down by prison officers yesterday.
Ms Kennedy denied those allegations today.
