Health Minister denies reports of Cabinet rift

Health Minister Micheál Martin has denied reports of a rift in the Cabinet over his plans to ban smoking in all workplaces from next January.

Speculation about a rift intensified in recent days when Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh expressed his opposition to an all-out ban, but Mr Martin said today that his colleague was merely reflecting the views of publicans in his constituency.
