Navan is Ireland's fast growing town

Navan in Co Meath was the fastest growing large town in Ireland between 1996 and 2002, according to the latest report on last year's census.

The 2002 census showed that Navan's population increased in the period covered by the head-count from 12,800 in 1996 to 19,000 last year.
