Man stabbed escaping abduction in NI
A man was knifed in the back up to eight times in an attempted abduction in Northern Ireland, the PSNI revealed today.
Detectives believe loyalists were behind the attempt to seize the man, a Catholic, outside Bushmills, Co Antrim.
The 27-year-old victim’s hospital condition was described as “serious, but stable.”
He was grabbed by three men who pulled up in a red car as he walked home on the Coleraine Road yesterday.
Police Chief Inspector Nigel Kyle said today: “It was a vicious and unprovoked attack. Religion was mentioned which suggests the attack was sectarian.”
