Govt accused of failing to fund road safety
Fine Gael has accused the Government of failing to provide adequate resources to implement road safety legislation.
The party said the Government's campaign on road safety was based on sophisticated advertising and PR spin, which would do nothing to reduce the number of deaths on Ireland's roads.
Fine Gael said the FF-PD coalition had failed to make manpower available for a promised garda traffic corps and had failed to honour its promise to increase garda numbers to 14,000.
