McGuinness to call for North elections
Sinn Fein chief negotiator Martin McGuinness is expected to call for a definitive statement on the state of the Northern elections today.
Mr McGuinness is expected to make the call at the Annual Derry Volunteers commemoration in the city.
He is seeking a decision from the British and Irish governments on a date for the Assembly elections.
Mr McGuinness says that the North needs to move quickly out of the "dangerous vacuum" which he says was created by the British government by it's "ill-advised cancellation of the elections".
