Sinn Féin hit back at Orange Order claims

Sinn Féin have hit back at Orange Order allegations that they were attacked in Belfast today.

Party councillor Margaret McLenaghin said loyalists had stabbed a man and left him badly wounded.

Ms McLenaghin said several men had jumped off one of the buses and chased a man before attacking the victim as he tried to intervene.

The man, a 27-year-old father-of-three was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital with serious knife wounds to the stomach, she said.

Mrs McLenaghin added: “They stopped purposely because they knew the first person they would find would be a Catholic.”
