Sinn Féin calls for election date
Sinn Féin today stepped up pressure on the British government for early new elections to the Northern Ireland Assembly.
National chairman Mitchel McLaughlin said after a meeting in Dublin of the party’s policy-directing Arrd Comhairle executive that a poll in the autumn would provide a political anchor and a focus for the Ulster peace process.
