O'Loan defends Drumcree plastic bullets
The North's Police Ombudsman has defended the use of plastic bullets against loyalists involved in last year's Drumcree protest in Portadown, Co Armagh.
Nuala O'Loan said police officers were in serious and immediate danger when they fired plastic bullets at the protestors, who were trying to force their way through a police barrier blocking their path to the nationalist Garvaghy Road area.
