Police seize hidden weapons

Four guns and a quantity of ammunition have been seized by police in Northern Ireland, officers said today.

The find was made in undergrowth beside the Lough Road in Dromore, County Down last night.

The weapons – two revolvers, a pistol and a machine-pistol – were sent for ballistic examination.

Other items recovered during the police operation were sent for forensic examination, said a police spokeswoman.

No arrests were made.
