Cork-based firm announces job losses

The Cork based electronics Components Company, flextronics has announced 200 job losses.

SIPTU says, it had been aware a contract was under review, which has now gone abroad.

According to SIPTU there is no severance package for many of the workers.

Around half of those being laid off are short-term temporary employees.

Up to 800 staff will remain working at the plant in Dublin hill, North Cork.
