Postal strike won't affect dole recipients tomorrow

Dole recipients who were due to be paid today at post offices closed by industrial action, will be paid tomorrow.

Minister for Social Affairs Mary Coughlan has made arrangements for long term customers paid by personal payment order to collect it at another sub post office in their area.

She has also asked the Communication Workers Union to keep social welfare customers out of their dispute with An Post.

Unofficial industrial action by members of the Communication Workers Union closed 22 post offices around the country today.
