The Public Offices Commission has agreed that the published election expenses figure for the Social and Family Affairs Minister was overstated.

The Public Offices Commission has agreed that the published election expenses figure for the Social and Family Affairs Minister was overstated.

Mary Coughlan was accused of overspending her campaigning budget by more than €36,000 in a report published today by the Commission.

This made her the biggest overspender in last year's election campaign.

But a statement from the Public Offices Commission says the record has been corrected, and her overspend is now just under €10,000.
