US firm to help develop Irish wind farm
Construction of a massive wind farm off the Arklow coastline is due to get underway this summer.
Seven turbines will be installed about seven kilometres from the shore, and will generate enough electricity to serve 16,000 homes.
Renewable Irish energy company Airtricity today signed a deal with American multinational General Electric, who will develop the site.
Airtricity chief executive Eddie O'Connor has stated that the wind farm will not be an eyesore.
