The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has confirmed that he is planning to meet representatives of the Loyalist Commission in the near future.

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has confirmed that he is planning to meet representatives of the Loyalist Commission in the near future.

The commission, an umbrella group of Protestant clergymen, unionist politicians and loyalist paramilitaries, requested the meeting through of the office of Church of Ireland Archbishop Robin Eames.

The group apparently wants to brief the Taoiseach on the loyalist view of the current stalemate in the Irish peace process.
