Charity cash stolen from peace activist

An Irish peace activist has appealed for the return of around €8,000 in charity funds that were stolen from her in Dublin yesterday.

The money was contained in a canvas holdall that was stolen from Caoimhe Butterly at the Airlink bus stop on O'Connell Street at around 4pm.

The money included around €5,000 for the families of Iraqis living in Dublin and more than €3,000 for peace activists working in Iraq.

Ms Butterly's airline ticket and passport were also stolen.
