CORI calls for new housing laws

The Conference of Religious in Ireland (CORI) is calling for a law to be introduced to make more land available for social housing.

The group has presented a proposal to the All Party Oireachtas Committee on the Constitution outlining two issues.

It wants a new law confining the rezoning of land to those only owned by local authorities and also wants the rights to accommodation to be recognised by the Government.
