Gardaí name Cavan accident victim

Gardaí have named the Co Cavan road victim who died last night.

Kevin Twomey was struck by a car when cycling between Mountnugent and Oldcastle at 10pm.

Mr Twomey, who was in his mid twenties, was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to Cavan general hospital.

Earlier, gardaí arrested a 37-year-old man in relation to the incident.

The driver has since been released and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
