FG calls for end to military neutrality

Fine Gael has called on the Irish Government to abandon the concept of neutrality and join a common EU defence alliance.

Party spokesman Gay Mitchell said: "The European Union is now making new rules which will include what they have forecast for some time: a defence entity.
