FG want tougher drink laws

Fine Gael will only support the Government's new alcohol legislation if the Government makes further changes, it was revealed today.

Fine Gael justice spokesman John Deasy, said today Fine Gael will help expedite legislation to tackle alcohol abuse if Justice Minister Michael McDowell includes a ban on drinks advertising and reverts to previous pub closing hours on Friday and Saturday.
