Dublin author James Plunkett - best known for his epic novel 'Strumpet City' - passed away in a nursing home today at the age of 83.

Dublin author James Plunkett - best known for his epic novel 'Strumpet City' - passed away in a nursing home today at the age of 83.

James Plunkett was born in 1920 and educated at Synge Street Christian Brothers School and the Municipal School of Music.
